This post is my electronic bouquet of well-wishes for Christina Applegate. Did you see her interview on Good Morning America with Robin Roberts ? I thought that it was nothing short of spellbinding. Christina Applegate came across as smart, genuine, and compassionate.
She opted to have a bilateral mastectomy with the hope that she will never have to face the beast again. Considering that I made a similar decision, I totally get that.
P.S. A nod to Karen Lynch at the Pink Ribbon Review for making me aware of the video clip. If you haven’t visited her breast cancer blog before, hop over for a visit.
P.P.S. I first posted these pics as an electronic well-wish to Elizabeth Edwards March ’07 when she announced her recurrence. The beautiful pink flowers were given to me by Komen when I was the BMW Ultimate Drive Local Hero.

First of all, those flowers are gorgeous. Really … I would have wanted that bouquet to last forever. Glad you got yourself a great photo.
Second, thanks for the link … always love that.
Finally, what a sincerely generous gift to give to Christina. I share your sentiment, as you know, and had no idea what a gem of a woman she was until recently.
She’s touched us all deeply, hasn’t she …
That was a very generous thing for you to do. I first heard about Christina Applegate’s situation in a magazine article, i was shocked to say the least. I have always been a fan of hers…
Her decision to have a bilateral mastectomy was even more surprising due her being a Hollywood actress. I really think that by her being brave and proud of her decision it will enable more women to have the strength to do the same, such as you.
My grandmother and mother were both diagnosed with breast cancer over five years ago. Thankfully they are both in remission but my grandmother had a lot of complications and opted for a bilateral mastectomy. Since her operation she has been cancer free.
When i saw your blog and some of your entries i was so inspired. Im currently doing a research essay reguarding an issue i feel passionately about and affects me and so i chose breast cancer for my grandmother and mother. But I wish you a healthy and safe recovery and am glad that i came across your blog!
