We finished up the three week workshop at Gate City Yarns the weekend before Thanksgiving.
Most of the women chose to knit, and a few chose to spin. I was the lone felter.
Here are the fruits of my efforts:
The sheep required an extra step. First, I had to do the wet felting over the ping pong ball. That is what I did Week 2. The critter was then plenty dry for Week 3, and I spent my workshop time needle-felting some loopy wool onto the sheep. The felting needles were kind of scary. They are really sharp and they have barbs on the tips. I would so so not want to stab myself with one of them. On deck: the chicken. Said chicken will probably have to wait until after Christmas.
My friend Louise (who put this workshop series together) is a kindred spirit. We both believe that art can be a powerful companion along the healing road.

Yay for pictures! Those are too cute, Jayne. The pig is my favorite.
Adorable!
I too believe in the connection between cancer and creativity. Diagnosed at the age of 40 with breast cancer, I went on to change careers from the medical field (as a tumor registrar) to writing full-time. My mother is a BC survivor as well, and is a painter.
Umm…I see the connection!
Blessings to you!
